Ordering, Payment, and Shipping Terms
Information for All Orders
All orders require a telephone number. Order Processing and Shipping Day: Our shipping company has announced that with the increase in packages being shipped, they are taking an additional 3 days to process and ship orders. For orders received by 3:00 PM (Pacific Time), they will be shipped in 3 business days. However if received close to our cut off time, they might take an extra business day to process. LuminEssence may request FedEx or UPS to get an adult signature upon delivery, but this is rarely requested on orders under $200. For orders over $200, the adult signature request is more likely for higher cost orders, or to areas where deliveries are often lost.
Federal Express 3 Business Days Service
Not available to Alaska and Hawaii which should instead use USPS Priority Mail.
For expedited service to Puerto Rico or any of the USA Territories, you must choose "International Courier" as domestic Federal Express is not available.
- This method requires a phone number and a physical street address to ship to. It is not available to APO/FPO, or to PO Boxes.
UPS Ground Service
UPS ground service asks us to tell customers to allow up to 5 business days for transit time and delivery not including weekends or holidays. Our customers indicate delivery times are typically much quicker than this to the West coast; and take 5 business days after the day of shipment to most areas east of the Mississippi. All orders are shipped from Portland, Oregon.
- This method is not available to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or any of the USA Territories, APO/FPO addresses, and to most P.O. Boxes. For expedited service, Puerto Rico or any of the USA Territories, residents must choose "International Courier" as domestic Federal Express is not available.
- Depending upon your delivery person, someone may need to be there to sign for your package upon delivery. You may be able to leave a signed note on your door if the package can be left in a secure area. If you request it by phone, we will waive the signature requirement for orders costing less than $100. In this case, you agree to assume responsibility for lost shipments.
United States Postal Service
We strongly recommend that you choose a different shipping method than United States Postal Service since USPS is not trackable or insured. To guarantee that you receive your order in a timely and professional manner, we suggest that you consider UPS Ground service which is usually quicker than USPS, and is actually less expensive for all orders over $10. For shipments to the East coast, we recommend Federal Express 3-day service which is usually $2-$4 more than USPS, yet typically your order will arrive at least 3 business days sooner and is trackable and insured.
- This is the only shipping method available to APO/FPO, and to most P.O. Boxes.
- Estimated arrival time for your order: Orders received by us before 3PM Pacific time on a business day are nearly always processed that day and are shipped the next business day. United States Postal Service shipments are by Priority Mail. Delivery time may be up to 9 business days - not including weekends or holidays. Our customers indicate delivery times are typically much quicker than this to the West coast and might take the maximum time to the Southeastern area of the U.S.A. or to very rural East coast locations. All orders are shipped from Portland, Oregon.
- Note LuminEsence may choose to change your shipping method to UPS Ground or Federal Express so that your shipment can be tracked. This will be done if delivery to an area has had significant delivery problems using Postal service, and especially if your order is over $200. These delivery problems include long delays and many lost packages. Should we choose to change your shipping method to UPS Ground or to Federal Express from Postal Service, you will be charged the same amount as was shown on your online order for Postal Service shipping.
- Orders over $650: Unless you place your order on the phone, we require that these orders be shipped by UPS Ground or by Federal Express so that your shipment can be tracked. These services require a physical street address (no PO Boxes) as well as a telephone number. If you place your order online and it is over $650, UPS and Federal Express are the only shipping methods available.
Contact Us Call our office, leave a message, and we will probably call you back if you are in the USA, Canada, or Mexico, however we might respond by email if we think that would be a clearer response. If you leave a voice mail from other countries, then we will probably email you due to the difference in time zones. Whenever possible, please make sure we have a current email address for you. If you need to change the email address associated with your account, you can do so after logging into your Members Area on our website. The most efficient way to contact us is to use our Guest Book.
